About
Stephanie Russell, owner-operator of Fresh Start Pet Coaching, has a passion for working with animals and considers it not just a job, but as her life’s work. She uses her extensive experience in this field to help every pet “parent” to communicate with and better understand their own furry family member, and to successfully overcome any problem behaviors. She is committed to helping each person build a fulfilling, loving and happy relationship with their family pet.
Stephanie holds a B.S. degree in Animal Behavior from Southwestern University, with memberships in several academic honor societies. She participates in ongoing research in Behavioral Neuroscience at Southwestern University’s animal behavior lab. Stephanie, having worked professionally with dogs and cats since 2003, has fostered dogs with behavior issues through Austin Sheltie Rescue and Georgetown Animal Outreach. She also fostered dogs and cats for Austin Pets Alive and has served as that organization’s behavior coordinator. Her love of horses began at age one, and she currently trains horses in foster care through the Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society. Stephanie avidly engages in continuing education and professional development by regularly attending conferences and seminars and keeping current on industry literature.
Stephanie’s expertise in reward-based animal training and behavior modification allows her to address a wide range of problem behaviors. Her ability to adapt a program specifically customized for your own pet’s needs yields maximum results in behavior management and problem prevention. She provides complementary initial consultations by telephone to discuss any behavior issues and whether FSPC is the appropriate resource for you and your pet. Inquiries and appointments can be made by email at srussell@fs-pets.com or by calling 512-942-6110 (Georgetown/Austin) or 254-523-9175 (Waco).. Travel for private sessions at your own location can be arranged. Please check out the services page for additional information on services and programs.
Stephanie currently lives outside of Georgetown with her entourage of adopted and rescued pets, including her 3 dogs, Zoe, Torchy, and Rusty, and 2 cats, Cubby and Timmy. Above all, she wants every pet lover’s relationship with their four-legged friends to be as fun and rewarding as her own!
